Within the date group you can mark if a date is actually a rain-date or if it's a regular game date. Some travel leagues give teams the option to opt-out of dates they cannot play, and sometimes those rain dates are options. When you mark a date as a rain date the system will NOT schedule games on that date. However, it will allow teams to opt out of that date if the dates are listed on the team application. Some schedulers might also want to list all dates, including rain dates, in their date group so they don't forget what is available when generating a schedule. This is also fine, just remember to mark it as a rain date!
To mark as a rain date please follow these steps:
From elements go to Scheduling Administration
Click on a season (if applicable)
Click on Date Groups (found under Setup)
Either create a new date group or modify an existing date group
When you go in to add new dates or edit existing dates you will see a column called RAINDATE. If you check the box that means the date is a rain date and the system will NOT generate games on that day.
