What Changed with Layouts?
Previously, your site's layout was set up as a fixed design configured by OTTO SPORT. Making changes to page layouts required going through our team.
With the new customizable layout system, you can now:
Add, remove, and reorder rows on your pages directly
Choose from pre-built layout templates for any page
Create a fully custom layout for a specific page without affecting the rest of your site
Save custom layouts as reusable templates
See layout changes go live immediately when you save
What is the Difference Between Layout Templates and Fixed Layouts?
If your site was set up before OTTO SPORT's new customizable layout system was introduced, you may notice two design types listed when you manage your pages. Here is what each one means.
Layout templates are the newer, flexible way to manage your site's design. With layout templates, you can:
Add, remove, and reorder rows directly from your admin
Apply styles to individual rows
Create custom layouts for specific pages
Save new templates from layouts you build
Make changes that go live immediately, without needing to contact your account team for design updates
Fixed layouts are static designs that were uploaded as complete files. With fixed layouts:
The design cannot be edited by organizational admin users
Any changes to the layout require our team to update the file
The new layout tools are not available on pages still using a fixed layout
How Do I Know Which Type My Site Is Using?
When you view your design templates in the admin, your list may show a label separating layout templates from fixed layouts. If you only see one type, your site is fully on that system. Not sure? Contact your OTTO SPORT account team, and we can confirm.
Do I Have to Do Anything Right Now?
No. Your site will continue to work exactly as it does today. If you are interested in enabling the customizable layouts for your website or would like a full site redesign using the new system, connect with your OTTO SPORT Account Manager.
