To connect your Gmail account through SMTP, head to the Email Accounts section and select Email Account Manager. Then press the Connect Account button and choose the Sign in with SMTP option from the pop up.

You will then be asked to add your email account settings. Enter your email account in the Email field, making sure to keep the Auto-populate server settings box ticked, so the SMTP and IMAP settings will be automatically filled in and your email details added.

If your email provider is Gmail, Outlook, Zoho Mail, or Hotmail, the SMTP and IMAP settings will be automatically filled in. However, if you're using a different email provider, you'll need to manually enter the settings in these fields. Be sure to verify and adjust these settings within your email provider's configuration.

2-Step Verification Enabled

If you've activated 2-step verification for your email account, you'll need to generate an App password to establish a connection between your email and Outbase.

You can create the App password by following these steps:

  • Open your Google Account by clicking here.

  • From the menu on the left, select Security.

  • Under How you sign in to Google, select 2-Step Verification.

  • Open App Passwords at the bottom of the page

  • Then in App passwords, choose Other, add Outbase as a name and click Generate:

  • Copy the generated code, for instance, xhtsgkmfsmuygttn (without any spaces), and paste it into the Password field in the Email Account section of Outbase.
