f your announcement bar is not appearing on your store, this quick guide will help you diagnose and fix the issue in less than 2 minutes.
1. Make Sure the App Is Enabled in Your Theme
Most visibility issues happen because the app embed is disabled.
Check This:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
Open App Embeds or Theme Sections
Locate Announcement Bar
Toggle to Enable
Save your changes
2. Check If the Announcement Is Published
Inside the app:
Open your announcement
Ensure “Published” is turned ON
Click Save
If it’s switched off, nothing will show.
3. Verify Placement Settings
Your announcement may be set to show only on specific pages.
Check:
Page targeting (All pages, Homepage, Product page, etc.)
Product/Collection selections
Bottom vs Top placement
If you are viewing a page that’s not included, the bar will not appear.
4. Confirm Geolocation Settings
If you've enabled country targeting, the bar may not show in your region.
Check:
Show in selected countries
Exclude selected countries
If your IP doesn't match the target rules, it won’t appear.
5. Check Schedule Timing
Your announcement might be scheduled for later or already ended.
Verify:
Start date/time
End date/time
Set it to Start Now if unsure.
6. Clear Cache or Try Incognito
Sometimes your browser saves old data.
Try:
Hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R)
Open the store in incognito mode
Check on another device
7. Z-Index Conflicts
If the bar is loading but hidden behind a header element:
Increase Z-index under:
Design → Advanced → Z-Index
Use a high value like: 2147483 (default).
8. Conflicting Code or Apps
Custom scripts or theme customizations may override visibility.
To test:
Temporarily disable custom CSS in the app
Disable other announcement-like apps
If it shows up, re-enable items one by one.
