Fully Editable: Modify Palette
Updated over a week ago

The Modify palette is used to make changes to the panels on your page. For example: delete or copy a panel, or select multiple panels to align their position.

💡 The Modify palettes is 'floating’ and can be repositioned within TigerDesigner, helping you to maximise your workspace and de-clutter your screen.

How to delete a panel

If you no longer require a panel on your design, it can be permanently deleted.

  • Select the panel you wish to delete.

  • Select the ‘Deleted Selected Panels’ option from the Modify palette.

  • You will be asked to confirm the deletion.

This action cannot be undone, so be sure that you really want to delete a panel when using this option. You will be asked to confirm the deletion and once done the panel cannot be restored.

💡 This option also works on multiple selections of panels. Select more than one panel by clicking a panel followed by the CTRL key and clicking another panel(s).

How to copy a panel

This option can save a lot of time if you need to create similar panels, as you can make a copy and make any alterations as required.

Example

FinerFood have created a document that has a button on the cover page - the settings, such as margin, font type and size are all in place. To save them time and prevent the need to choose all the settings again, they simply duplicate the panel and change the colour and wording ready for the next one!

  • Select the panel you wish to copy.

  • Select the ‘Copy & Paste’ option from the Modify palette, followed by ‘Copy Selected Panels’.

  • Select the ‘Paste Copied Panels’ option from the Modify palette to paste the copied panel onto your page.

How to copy panel settings

This option can save a lot of time if you want to apply the same settings to a different panel. When using this option the panel types must be the same, for example a Text panel.

Example

FinerFood have created a page that uses a Text panel - the settings, such as margin, line spacing and font are all in place. To save them time and prevent the need to go through and apply all the settings again, they can copy the settings and paste onto another Text panel. Simple!

  • Select the panel you wish to copy the settings for.

  • Select the ‘Copy & Paste’ option from the Modify palette followed by ‘Copy Panel Settings’.

  • Select the panel you would like to paste the settings to.

  • Select the ‘Copy & Paste’ option from the Modify palette followed by ‘Paste Panel Settings’.

How to align panels

When two or more panels are selected, the Align option can be used.

  • Select at least two panels on the page.

  • Select the ‘Align Menu’ option from the Modify palette and choose how you would like to align the panels (Left, center, right, top, middle, bottom).

How to distribute panels

When three or more panels are selected, the Distribute option can be used.

  • Select at least three panels on the page.

  • Select the ‘Distribute Menu’ option from the Modify palette and choose how you would like to align the panels (horizontally, vertically).

  • The space between the selected panels will then be evenly distributed either horizontally or vertically.

💡 As panels may be different dimensions, the distribute tool uses the centre of the panels to define the distance between them.

How to arrange panels

This option enables you to move panels forward and back, or bring them to the front or back. It's a simpler option to using the Layers palette to order panels and is similar to the arrange options you might find in Microsoft Office programs.

  • Select the panel you wish to arrange

  • Select the ‘Arrange’ option from the Modify palette toolbar and choose an action from the list.

- Move to New Layer.
- Bring to Front of Layer.
- Send to Back of Layer.
- Bring to Front.
- Send to Back.
- Bring Forward.
- Send Backwards.
