What is a Version Link?
A Version Link appears next to an individual version in a document and opens a specific version of a document.
Benefits
A 'Version Link' can be used if you want to navigate to a specific version of a document - for example, the January version of a monthly newsletter document.
The 'Document Link' will open the most recently created and published version within a document, however you may wish to distribute the 'Version Link' so your visitors can view a specific edition.
Example
Star Hotel have a monthly newsletter for their employees. To ensure their staff see the latest version, the 'Document Link' has been added to their intranet. However, a member of their team was on annual leave last month so missed the July edition. To ensure they don't miss out on important company news, they can be sent the Version Link for the July newsletter.
Unpublished Version Link
If you have distributes a Version Link, it will need to be unpublished if you wish to make changes to it. During this your visitors we not be able to access it and will see the below message.
