Adjusting Your Map’s Look and Feel

PamPam maps are customizable. You can customize the panel, the list and the pins in the Map Settings area.

Updated over a week ago

PamPam gives you three simple ways to customize how your map looks and behaves:

  • Panel style → controls the overall layout of the map and side panel

  • List style → controls how each row appears inside the panel

  • Pin display type → controls how each spot looks on the map itself

Each setting works together, but they’re adjusted separately — so you can mix and match based on what your map needs.

To adjust map settings, make sure you are in "Edit" mode, and then click on the "Gear" icon in the bottom toolbar.

Video Overview

Panel Styles

The Panel determines how your map and content are structured.

Classic

  • Fullscreen map with a list of elements

  • Great for guides, directories, and curated collections

  • Familiar and easy to navigate

Atlas

  • Adds a conversational layer to your map

  • Visitors can ask questions and chat with your map data

  • Helpful for larger maps or exploratory experiences

Locator

  • Built for search and proximity

  • Visitors can search by location

  • Results can be sorted by distance

  • Ideal for store locators or service maps

Popup Modals

You can choose whether your panel is always visible.

  • Collapse the panel by default

    • The map fills the screen first

    • The list stays hidden until opened

  • Spot info appears on click

    • Clicking a pin opens its info panel

    • Keeps the interface clean and focused

This is especially useful for embedded maps where space is limited.

List Styles

The List setting controls how each row appears inside your panel.

You can choose from:

  • Medium → Balanced layout with image and text

  • Large → Bigger images and more visual emphasis

  • Small → Compact, text-forward layout

  • No Image → Text-only layout

When using text-based layouts, you can further customize:

  • Primary field (e.g., Title, Description)

  • Secondary field (optional supporting info)

  • Show buttons (toggle on or off)

This allows you to decide how much detail appears at a glance.

Pin Display Type

The Pins setting controls how spots appear directly on the map.

You can choose different display types depending on your content:

  • Standard → Places, points of interest, buildings

  • Image → Photo-based pins for memories or highlights

  • Event → Calendar-style pins for itineraries or timelines

  • Link → Social or external links

  • Profile → People, companies, or organizations

This setting changes the visual language of your map — without changing your data.

How It All Works Together

  • The Panel sets the overall experience.

  • The List style refines how each item appears inside that experience.

  • The Pin display type shapes how your map looks visually at a glance.

Small changes in these settings can dramatically shift the feel of your map — from editorial and visual to searchable and practical.

Take a moment to try different combinations. Your map can be as minimal or as expressive as you’d like.
