Map Gate lets you decide who gets access to your map before they can view it. You can either ask viewers to enter their email address, or require a passcode that you set. Think of it like password-protecting a Squarespace page, or entering your email to read an article behind a news site paywall.
Note:
Map Gate is not designed to protect sensitive or private information — we still recommend keeping private data off PamPam. It's best used to grow an email list or limit access to a specific group.
Map Gate is only available on Explorer plans and above.
This is helpful when:
You want to collect emails from people who view your map
You're sharing a map with a specific group and want a simple access barrier (like members of a community or attendees of an event)
What you get from each gate type
Email required — you'll receive a CSV with the emails of everyone who entered their email to get access
Code required — you'll get a log of when someone used the passcode to access your map
