Parspec lets you add multiple named freight charges and apply each one to a specific entity — lump sum, manufacturer, lot, or line item — with full control over how each cost is calculated and displayed on your quote.

1. Add a Freight Cost

  1. In the Pricing & Lead Time tab, click Add next to Freight.

  2. Enter a unique name for the freight charge (e.g. "LTL Freight" or "Local Delivery").

  3. Select the freight entity this charge applies to:

    • Lump Sum — applies across the entire quote. Percentage is calculated from the total Extended Sell Price of the BOM (including lots, excluding options and services).

    • Manufacturer — applies to all line items for a specific manufacturer across all sections, excluding items in lots. Percentage is calculated from the manufacturer's Extended Sell Price.

    • Lot — applies to a single lot. Percentage is calculated from that lot's Extended Sell Price.

    • Line Item — applies to a single line item. Percentage is calculated from that line's Extended Sell Price (the Per option is also available).

  4. Select the calculation method:

    • Flat Fee — a fixed dollar amount.

    • % of Extended Discounted Cost — a percentage of the relevant entity's Extended Sell Price.

    • Per Quantity — a cost applied per unit quantity (available for Line Item only).

  5. Enter the freight amount and click X to close the panel.

Tip: You can add multiple freight charges, each with a different name and entity — repeat the steps above for each one.

2. Display Freight on Quote

  1. Click Create Quote in the Pricing & Lead Time tab.

  2. Expand the Pricing and Lead Time section in the quote customization panel.

  3. Select how freight should appear on the quote:

    • Freight Breakdown — displays each freight charge by name and amount in a separate table on the quote.

    • Spread Freight Across Products — adds freight into the unit and extended price columns, so customers see an all-in price per line (this column is also visible in the Pricing & Lead Time tab).

Note: Only one display method can be selected per quote. Choose based on whether your customer needs to see freight itemized or rolled into product pricing.
