Linking your manufacturer names and abbreviations to Parspec IDs improves datasheet search accuracy and lets Parspec automatically replace abbreviations with full manufacturer names in your final submittals.
| 1.Why Link Abbreviations and Manufacturers? |
Better datasheet suggestions — Parspec uses your abbreviations to understand which manufacturer you're searching for and surfaces more relevant results.
Automatic name replacement in submittals — if your BOM uses abbreviations, Parspec can replace them with the full manufacturer name in your final submittal package.
Improved search accuracy — matching a Parspec ID ensures datasheet suggestions pull exclusively from that manufacturer's website.
| 2.Manufacturer Recognition Statuses |
When you add a manufacturer, Parspec will match it to a Parspec ID. You may see one of the following support statuses:
Recognized — High Quality: High-quality datasheet suggestions will be shown from this manufacturer.
Recognized — In Progress: Parspec is still gathering datasheets. Other search engines are used in the meantime, with better support coming soon.
Recognized — Not Supported: This manufacturer does not host datasheets online, or does not sell lighting or electrical products.
Not Recognized: Parspec may be using a different internal name. Click the Parspec ID field to browse and find a match.
Tip: If no Parspec ID matches your manufacturer, paste the manufacturer's website URL into the field. The status will update to Requested and Parspec will gather their datasheets as soon as possible. |
| 3.Edit or Update Your Manufacturer List |
To edit an existing manufacturer, click the three dots (...) next to their entry.
When uploading a new list, choose to either overwrite the existing list or append to it.
