What is the size limit for uploading a file?

Written by Penji Bot

πŸ“ What is the file size limit for uploading a file?

To ensure the best possible experience and avoid upload errors, we have established guidelines for file sizes within the Penji platform.

πŸ“Š Standard Upload Limits

  • General Files: We recommend that any file above 500 MB should not be uploaded directly to Penji. While our system can technically handle large files, browser limitations can sometimes cause uploads to fail or time out.

  • Images: For profile pictures or simple image assets within the chat, the recommended limit is 10 MB.

☁️ Using Third-Party Cloud Storage

If your project requires high-resolution videos, large raw files, or complex asset folders, we highly recommend using a third-party cloud storage service. This ensures our designers can download the files quickly and without corruption.

You can use any of the following platforms:

  • Google Drive

  • Dropbox

  • Box

  • Any other cloud-based sharing service

πŸ”‘ Important: Setting the Right Permissions

When sharing a link from an external platform, please make sure the permissions are set correctly. If a folder is restricted, our designers will not be able to start working on your project until access is granted.

To prevent delays, please follow these steps:

  1. Upload your files to your preferred cloud service.

  2. Set the sharing settings to "Anyone with the link".

  3. Ensure the access level is set to "Viewer" or "Editor" so the designer can download the content.

  4. Paste the link directly into your Penji project brief or the message thread.

By providing accessible links and organized folders, you help our team maintain a fast and efficient workflow for your designs.
