AI generation failed or got stuck

What to do when AI quiz generation fails in PerfectMatch — retry a single version, check your product source, or wait a moment.

Written by ZP Support Team

When you create a quiz, PerfectMatch generates three quiz versions in parallel. Occasionally a version fails or takes too long. Here's what to do:

  1. Retry the failed version — On the "Choose quiz" step, each version has its own Try again button. Clicking it regenerates just that version, so you don't lose the other two.

  2. Check your product source — Make sure the collection, best sellers, or hand-picked selection you chose actually contains products, and that those products have meaningful titles and descriptions. The AI can't build a good quiz from an empty or very sparse selection.

  3. Wait a moment — Generation is limited to a certain number of attempts per store in a short window, so rapid retries can be temporarily blocked. If you see a message asking you to try again later, wait a minute or two and retry.

  4. Start over if needed — If generation fails before any versions appear, close the wizard and start again. Nothing is saved until you choose a version, so there's no cleanup to do.

If generation keeps failing after a retry or two, contact us through the in-app chat — we're happy to help.
