Resolving Red Quality Meter During Relaxation

Understand why the contraction meter turns red during relaxation and how to address it

Updated over a week ago

Relaxing is definitely one of the most challenging parts. Don't worry if you can't relax 100% on timing during your first training sessions. It takes time to master it.

Why does the Contraction Quality Meter shoot to the red ?

You are probably unconsciously putting a slight intra-abdominal pressure while trying to relax.

Our best tip to stick with a good contraction quality: first use the Practice Lab to visualize your contractions! Avoid pushing on your abs to relax faster, and the red pin should not go up. We know it's frustrating but that's how you will progress without harming yourself.

Sometimes, in our effort to relax, we breathe deeply from the belly. However, breathing from the belly creates a bearing down force on your pelvic floor. To work around this, try breathing from your chest (using the diaphragm) instead.

Personalize your Contraction Quality Meter

Under Settings > Exercise Preferences > Contraction Quality Meter > Personalize your Contraction Quality Meter.

This feature allows you to adjust the parameters of the Contraction Quality Meter to better suit the pressure applied on the deep sensor when you cough. Once calibrated, it applies to all games going forward. You can turn it off or reset it at any time.
