If you've noticed that your breathing impacts the Contraction Quality Meter during your exercises, you're not alone! Breathing is a natural part of every movement, but it can sometimes interfere with how the Contraction Quality Meter responds. Here’s how you can manage it:
1. Synchronize Your Breathing with Your Pelvic Floor
Try matching your breath with your pelvic floor activity to achieve better control. Here's a simple way to practice:
Exhale while squeezing your pelvic floor to counter pressure.
Inhale while relaxing your pelvic floor muscles.
You can learn this synchronization with our special exercise called "Breathing Floor". To access it:
Add it to Today's Workout in the app, or
Go to the Exercises tab > scroll down to "Train differently".
2. Avoid Deep Exhales to Relax Faster
It’s common to want to exhale deeply or “push down” to relax quickly, but this can disrupt the exercise. Instead, take your time:
Breathe naturally and allow your pelvic floor to relax gradually.
It’s okay to miss a few targets! Progress comes from focusing on healthy, consistent improvements.
3. Personalize Your Contraction Quality Meter Sensitivity
If the Contraction Quality Meter feels overly sensitive, you can adjust it:
Go to Settings in the app.
Navigate to Exercise preferences > Contraction Quality Meter.
Select Personalize your Contraction Quality Meter and run a quick cough test.
Why It Matters
Breathing correctly during exercises not only improves accuracy but also supports your overall pelvic floor health. Relaxation can be challenging, but it improves as your pelvic floor strength and coordination grow.
Remember, it’s not about perfection—it's about progress. Take your time, and know that we're here to support you every step of the way! 🌟
