Overview

Push automations are messages that send automatically based on customer actions, dates, or segment changes. Once configured, they run on their own with no manual effort. Every automation has a toggle to enable or disable it, a customizable message, and a timing delay.

All automated push notifications are free and unlimited.

Accessing push automations

  1. Click Mailings in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click the Push Automation tab at the top of the screen.

  3. Select the card template from the Card dropdown.

All available automations appear as separate tiles. Each tile has a toggle to enable or disable that automation, and a Disable all auto-pushes option is available at the top to turn everything off at once.

Feedback

Automatically ask customers to rate their experience after each visit.

  1. Enable the toggle on the Feedback tile.

  2. Enter your message in the Message field.

  3. Set the number of hours after earned stamps/bonuses when the request should be sent.

  4. Click Save.

Tip: Sending the feedback request 1 hour after the visit works well — long enough for the customer to reflect, soon enough that the experience is fresh.

Next visit reminder

Automatically remind customers to come back if they haven't visited in a while.

  1. Enable the toggle on the Next Visit Reminder tile.

  2. Enter your message in the Message field.

  3. Set the number of days after the last earned stamps/bonuses when the reminder should be sent.

  4. Click Save.

Tip: A 28-day reminder works well for most businesses.

Birthday congratulations

Automatically send a birthday message to customers. Requires the birthday field in your card enrolment form.

  1. Enable the toggle on the Birthday Congratulations tile.

  2. Enter your message in the Message field.

  3. Set how many days before the customer's birthday the message should be sent. Set to 0 to send on the birthday itself.

  4. Click Save.

Tip: Sending one day early lets you offer a discount and invite the customer to celebrate at your business.

Referral program

Automatically remind customers to invite their friends after installing the card.

  1. Enable the toggle on the Referral Program tile.

  2. Enter your message in the Message field (e.g., "Love our service? Share your card with a friend and you'll both earn rewards! 🎁").

  3. Set the number of hours after card installation when the reminder should be sent.

  4. Click Save.

Tip: Sending this reminder a few hours after installation gives the customer time to experience your service before being asked to refer friends.

RFM segment change notifications

Automatically notify customers when their RFM segment changes. This lets you re-engage customers who are slipping, congratulate those who are growing, and prompt action at every stage of the customer lifecycle.

Each of the nine RFM segments has its own automation tile. For each one:

  1. Enable the toggle on the segment tile.

  2. Enter your message in the Message field.

  3. Set the number of hours after the segment change when the notification should be sent.

  4. Click Save.

Available RFM segment automations

  • Beginners — New customers who just started visiting. Welcome them and encourage a second visit

  • Growths — Promising customers building a habit. Acknowledge their loyalty and keep the momentum going

  • Champions — Your most active, loyal customers. Thank them and encourage referrals

  • Doubtful — New customers who haven't returned recently. Send a gentle nudge to bring them back

  • Medium (borderline) — Moderate customers showing signs of disengagement. Offer an incentive to re-engage

  • Loyal — Regular — Strong customers who visit often but not as recently. Remind them you're still here

  • Sleeping — Customers who have gone quiet. Send a re-engagement offer before you lose them

  • At risk — Previously engaged customers drifting away. Act quickly with a compelling reason to return

  • Needs attention — High-value customers who haven't visited in a while. Reach out personally with a special offer

Tip: Tailor your message to each segment. Champions might receive a referral prompt, while Sleeping customers might get a discount to bring them back.

FAQs

Do I need to set up automations for each card separately?

Yes. Each automation is linked to a specific card template. Select the card from the dropdown and configure the automations for that card.

Can I disable an automation without deleting the message?

Yes. Use the toggle on each tile to turn an automation off. Your message is preserved and can be re-enabled at any time. You can also use Disable all auto-pushes at the top to turn everything off at once.

Do I need to set up all nine RFM segment notifications?

No. Enable only the segments that are relevant to your strategy. For example, you might only set up notifications for Sleeping, At risk, and Champions.

Where can I set up custom triggered messages (e.g., card installation, reward earned)?

Custom triggers are configured separately from the automations on this page. See Push notifications for the full list of available triggers and how to set them up.

Do RFM segment notifications send every time a customer changes segment?

Yes. The notification is sent once when the customer enters that segment. If you've set a delay (e.g., 2 hours), the notification is sent that many hours after the segment change occurs.
