How to configure loyalty rules

Create a rule to earn extra points under special conditions.

Updated this week

Loyalty rules are used to adjust the conversion from amount of currency spent in store to loyalty points. You can create various rules based on attributes in the system. This is best used to incentivise spending based on your criteria (for example: double points on Monday afternoon or triple points for gold members). Here, you can also adjust general conversion rules for rounding or setting the general rule for your program.

To configure loyalty rules:

  1. Navigate to Loyalty Rules

    • Go to ‘Loyalty’ and select ‘Rules’ from the dropdown menu.

  2. Create a New Rule

    • Select ‘New rule’.

    • You can either choose a preset (e.g., happy hour, rewarding big spenders, multiplying points for loyal guests, rounding up transactions) or create your own rule from scratch.

  3. Create a Custom Rule

    • To create your own rule, select ‘Start from scratch’ and press ‘Continue’.

  4. Set Criteria for the Rule

    • Click ‘Filter group’ to start creating your own rule.

    • Select the criteria on which you’d like to base the rule, such as a contact attribute like a tier. Filters can be created based on shop, date, contact, or day & time.

  5. Continue and Configure Credits

    • Once you’ve selected your criteria, click on ‘Continue’.

    • The placeholder value is to add 0 credits to the loyalty transaction. To edit this, click on the purple plus sign.

    • You can then select a fixed number, an addition, a rounding, or multiplication, along with your value.

  6. Activate and Exit

    • Once you’ve configured the rule, click ‘Activate rule and exit’. Your loyalty rule is now active!

To add another rule, simply click ‘New rule’ and repeat the process.
