      • Opt-Out: Contacts are automatically enrolled.

      • Opt-In: Contacts must indicate their desired subscription.

      • Double Opt-In: Contacts must indicate their subscription and subsequently confirm it via email.

  5. Create Subscription Type:

Summary of Subscription Types

  • Opt-Out: Automatically enrolls contacts. Suitable for general newsletters or basic updates.

  • Opt-In: Requires explicit consent from contacts. Ideal for specialized content or campaigns.

  • Double Opt-In: Requires consent and email confirmation. Recommended for compliance with legal requirements or for high-value content.

All contacts must have an email address in the dashboard, even for loyalty-only use. The main difference between loyalty versus marketing only contacts is whether they receive marketing communications or not, which depends on their subscription status. This can be changed on the 'Edit Subscription Preferences' page. Initial subscription status upon addition to the dashboard is based on subscription type.
