In Pilotis Forms, template components are the building blocks that allow you to create dynamic and interactive templates.

Categories of Template Components

There are four main categories of template components:

  1. Banners

  2. Grids

  3. Form Controls

Each category serves a unique purpose and can be customized to fit your specific needs.

Adding Components

Banners

  • To add a banner component, click on the Add Banner button. Banners are useful for adding visual elements and important messages to your template.

Grids

  • Grids allow you to organize content in a structured layout. You can add grids by selecting the appropriate option from the components menu.

Forms

  • Form components are the core elements used to collect data from users. These include text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, and more.

Anatomy of All Components

Understanding the anatomy of components will help you manage and organize them effectively:

Inspector

Adding or selecting a component will display the Inspector widget. The Inspector allows you to setup each control and define the various options and settings based on the control you have selected.

Sometimes the Inspector will be split into two tabs:

  • Settings - general settings such as the Question name, tooltip, validation options, etc.

  • Options - allows you to define the various options for controls such as checkbox, radio, etc that a user can pick from.

Handle

  • Located in the top left corner of the component, the handle allows you to move the component. Use this handle to drag components to different positions within the section.

Up and Down Buttons

  • Moving to the right, you will see up and down buttons. These buttons enable you to move the component up or down in relation to other components within the section.

Copy/Paste & Cut/Paste

The below video guides provide an overview of the different Form Controls within the system:

  • Each form has a cut and copy option allowing you to either cut and paste or copy and paste a form. Simply select the option you would like (either cut or copy), then the system will highlight the areas the form can be pasted to. Note you can also paste across different pages should that be required.

Text Input Form Controls

Interactive Form Controls

Specialised Form Controls

Note: These are depended on your plan.
