How to Open a Zip Folder and Access Your Files

Downloaded a zip folder but aren’t sure how to open it? Follow these simple steps based on your device’s operating system:

For Windows:

1. Locate the Zip Folder:

- Go to your Downloads folder or wherever you saved the file.

- Look for the file with a `.zip` extension.

2. Right-Click to Open:

- Right-click on the zip file.

- From the menu that appears, select Extract All….

3. Choose a Destination Folder:

- A pop-up will appear, asking where you’d like to save the extracted files.

- By default, it will create a folder in the same location as the zip file. You can change this by clicking Browse.

- Once chosen, click Extract.

4. Access Your Files:

- After extraction, a new folder with the same name as the zip file will appear.

- Open this folder to access your files.

For macOS (Apple Computers):

1. Locate the Zip Folder:

- Open Finder and go to your Downloads or the folder where the zip file is saved.

- Find the file ending in `.zip`.

2. Double-Click to Unzip:

- Double-click on the zip file.

- macOS will automatically extract the contents into a new folder in the same location.

3. Access Your Files:

- Once extracted, you’ll see a new folder with the same name as the zip file.

- Open this folder to view your files.

For iOS (iPhone and iPad)

1. Open the Files App:

- Go to your home screen and open the Files app.

2. Find the Zip File:

- Locate the zip file, usually in Downloads or the location where you saved it.

3. Unzip the File:

- Tap on the zip file. iOS will automatically extract the files.

- A new folder with the same name as the zip file will appear.

4. Access Your Files:

- Tap the new folder to view and access the files inside.
