Ready for your first brew with Plaato Pro? We recommend that you first sanitise your device to ensure it is squeaky clean to avoid contamination.

Sanitise your Plaato Pro 🧼

-Manually cleaning the Stem and Tines

When manually cleaning your device, please be cautious to avoid any impacts on the stem and tines ⚠️ This will offset its calibration.

  • Spray the stem with a caustic or oxidising cleaning agent

  • Rinse with water

  • Sanitise with acid, chlorine or ethanol

Note: If mechanical cleaning of the tines is necessary, please use paper and gently scrub-off any residues.

-Cleaning the Main Body

When necessary, use a damp cloth to clean the black casing. Although the casing of your Plaato Pro is waterproof, you should not submerge it in water as this will damage it!

-The CIP Method

The stem and the tines of your device are made of stainless steel (SS304) and are CIP-compliant.

Using a Tri-Clamp

Each Plaato Pro is fitted with a standard 1.5" Tri Clamp making it compatible with most fermentation tanks. The inner diameter of the available port on your fermenter must be 22.75 mm (0.9") wide or more.

We recommend using a 1.5” Tri-Clamp port to mount your device to your fermenter.

To mount your device into your fermenter, you need to ensure that the tines are positioned correctly, so sedimentation and bubbles can freely pass through.

To do this, make sure that you align the built-in spirit level, so the bubble lays in the middle. Fasten and secure your Plaato Pro into your fermenter

If you do not have a spare tri-clamp port, you can try the following:

Tri-Clamp Alternative

  1. Use an adapter. Adapters exists between most sanitary standards. The DIN11851 adapters are standard industry European to US Tri-Clamp adapters.

  2. Weld on a Tri-Clamp

  3. The Stem of your Plaato Pro should ideally be fully immersed in the liquid inside of the fermentation tank. If you have any further questions on the installation or mounting of your PLAATO Pro device, please click here.

Spare Port Alternative

  • If you have a temperature probe, you can replace it with your Plaato Pro as the Plaato Pro will also measure temperature!

  • Use a T-Connector
