Note: This covers creating additional memberships from Manage Membership Types once your club is running. If you're setting up your very first membership during club onboarding, see "How to Set Up Memberships and Payments for Your Club" instead.
Step 1: Name it
Tap + New Membership on the Membership Types screen in Your Club. Enter your membership name (up to 40 characters), then tap Next to continue.
Step 2: Choose groups
Select which group or groups this membership applies to, then tap Next. This step is skipped automatically for clubs with Auto-Approval, since those memberships default to All Members.
Step 3: Choose how members pay
Pick one of four modes:
No-Cost Membership
Pay upfront
Pay by subscription (marked "Recommended")
Let members decide (both options offered at registration)
If your club has more than one Stripe account connected and you've chosen a paid mode, you'll be asked which account should receive payments for this membership before continuing.
Step 4: Set your pricing
For upfront pricing, enter the one-time amount. A live breakdown shows what your club receives after the 4.4% processing fee, with a separate 50p checkout fee (depending on your club's region) shown as paid by the member, not deducted from your total.
For subscription pricing, choose a frequency (Weekly, Monthly, or Quarterly, only those that fit within your remaining season are shown) and enter the amount per payment. The same live breakdown shows your total take across the season.
If your club is rolling rather than seasonal, frequencies show as "Ongoing" instead of a fixed payment count, and there's no season expiry shown.
Step 5: Other options
Toggle on a Free Trial (set the number of days) and/or a Joining Fee (set the amount), if you want either. Free trials aren't available on no-cost memberships.
Tap Create Membership to finish. Your new membership appears immediately on the Manage Membership Types screen with 0 active members.
Here is a video walkthrough of the above process:
FAQ
What happens if a member cancels during their free trial?
No payment is taken, no overdue amount is created, and their membership status becomes Cancelled with access revoked immediately. They'd need to re-register from scratch to rejoin.
Is the joining fee ever discounted?
No. Discount codes only ever apply to the membership fee, never to the joining fee or the transaction fee.
