Mute a chat
Open the chat menu on the chat you want to quiet down.
Toggle Mute Chat on.
Confirm when prompted.
A mute icon appears on the chat, and you'll stop getting push notifications for it. You can still read and send messages normally, and the chat still updates its unread count.
To unmute, open the chat menu again and toggle Mute Chat off. No confirmation is needed to unmute.
Note: Muting is personal to you and doesn't affect notifications for anyone else in the chat. There's no time limit, a muted chat stays muted until you turn it back on.
FAQ
Does archiving a chat mute it too?
Yes. Archiving automatically mutes a chat. But unarchiving doesn't automatically unmute it, you'll need to do that separately if you want notifications back.
