Why Can't I Approve a New Member's Registration?

If you can't approve a new member's registration in PLAI, it's likely because the Membership Type isn't linked to a Group yet. Learn why this happens and how to fix it.

In PLAI, everything in the app, including events, content, and registrations, is filtered and assigned by Group. When you approve a new member, you can only assign them to a Group that has a Membership Type linked to it.

This exists on purpose. It stops a member joining your club without an active membership.

If none of your Membership Types are linked to a Group yet, you won't be able to approve any new registrations until you set this up.

Note: If your Groups aren't showing at all in the Groups tab, this is a different underlying issue. Please contact support so we can investigate your account directly, rather than following the steps below.

How to fix it

To edit a Membership for your club:

  1. Go to Club Page > Admin Tab > Your Club > Memberships.

  2. Tap the pencil icon on the Membership you want to edit.

  3. Tap Select Groups.

  4. Select all the Groups you want to associate with that Membership.

  5. Tap Save.

Once this is set up, you'll be able to approve new registrations for members assigned to that Group.

Tip: Don't have a Membership Type set up yet? Check out our guide on adding a new membership first, then come back here to link it to a Group.

FAQ

Why can't I approve any new members at all? This usually means none of your Membership Types are linked to a Group yet. Follow the steps above to link at least one, and approvals will start working for members in that Group.
