What is XPL?

XPL is the native token of the Plasma blockchain. On Plasma One, XPL is used as your rewards currency. Cashback and referral bonuses are paid in XPL, and you can lock XPL to upgrade your tier.

XPL plays a central role in how you earn and unlock value in Plasma One. Your cashback and referral rewards are paid in XPL, and locking XPL is the primary way to upgrade your tier and access better rates, lower fees, and premium perks. The more you engage with Plasma One, the more XPL you accumulate and the more you can unlock.

Your XPL balance lives in your Plasma One account. You can find it in the Tiers tab by tapping Manage XPL. Here you can see your total balance, broken down into unlocked and locked XPL.

You can also hold XPL in an external wallet. If you want to send XPL to an external wallet or receive XPL from one, make sure your wallet supports XPL and has the XPL asset added before making any transfer.
