Overview
You can create as many tables as needed in Platter. Tables are used by staff to develop and manage dine-in orders directly from the POS. This helps streamline seating, ordering, and billing during service.
Prerequisites
Before creating tables in Platter, make sure you have:
Credential of Platter Back Office.
A clear understanding of your restaurant’s table layout (table numbering, spacing, and seating capacity).
Accurate details for each table, such as the number of seats required.
POS devices that are connected to the internet to receive the latest updates from the Back Office.
An updated POS app version to ensure floor plan changes sync correctly.
Step
1. Access the Floor Plan Section
Log in to the Platter Back Office.
Navigate to the Floor Plan section.
The floor plan is locked by default when you open the page.
2. Unlock the Floor Plan
Click Unlock Floor Plan to start editing.
Unlocking is required before adding, moving, or adjusting any objects.
Once unlocked, you can freely design or modify your restaurant layout.
3. Add Objects
Click Add Object to start placing items on the floor plan.
Choose from available objects such as tables, stage, kitchen, pantry, bar, speaker, entrance, buffet, space, or custom objects.
Drag the object to position it anywhere on the canvas.
Each object can be customized with basic settings:
Edit the name or label (e.g., Table 1, Bar, Kitchen)
Adjust size (width/length)
Modify chair count (for tables)
Duplicate the object if needed
Delete the object if not required
Continue adding and arranging objects until your layout matches your restaurant setup.
4. Save Floor Plan
Click Save Floor Plan after completing your layout.
Saving is required for your design to sync and appear on the Platter POS.
If you do not save, none of the changes will be visible on the POS.
Troubleshooting
Tables are not appearing on the POS:
Ensure the floor plan is saved in the Back Office, then wait a few minutes for the sync to complete.
Refresh or restart the POS if needed.
Seat count not updating on the POS:
Refresh the table view or log out and log back in on the POS to load the latest data.
Changes not syncing:
Check your network connection. Offline devices may not show updates until they reconnect.
POS still showing old layout:
Restart the POS app to force a full sync with the Back Office.
