How to connect Plugzio devices to the internet

Updated over a week ago

To enable remote monitoring and control features, all Plugzio EV chargers must be connected to the internet. Depending on your model, your charger will either connect via Cellular (4G/LTE) or WiFi. Below are the steps to get each type online.

Cellular Devices: Auto-Connect on Power-Up

If you have a Plugzio charger with built-in 4G/LTE capability, it should automatically connect to the internet as soon as it is powered on, provided there is sufficient cellular signal in the installation area. Please review our on-site assessment and installation checklist guides for further details on signal strength requirements.

WiFi Devices

There are three ways to connect Plugzio devices to a WiFi network:

  1. Using a Plugzio Extender: Devices will automatically connect, as Plugzio extenders come preconfigured.

  2. Using Your Own WiFi Router: If you're using your own router and network, you can set the SSID and password according to this guide, and the devices will auto-connect. Plugzio devices are designed to automatically connect to a set of preconfigured WiFi SSID and password combinations. For enhanced security or to request a custom configuration, please contact Plugzio Support. We’ll be happy to provide secure, personalized network credentials tailored to your needs.

  3. Connecting to a Custom Network: To connect the devices to any other network configuration, follow the steps in this guide.
