Overview

Connecting your data sources to Polar is the first step to unlocking powerful, centralized insights into your eCommerce performance. With our growing list of connectors—from Shopify and Google Ads to Recharge and Pinterest—you can unify your store, marketing, and customer data in one place.

This guide will walk you through:

  • How to connect and manage your data sources

  • Connector-specific options and settings

  • How to troubleshoot common issues

  • What to do if your desired connector isn’t available

Whether you're just getting started or looking to adjust your current setup, this article covers everything you need to know about managing integrations in Polar.

How to Connect Your Data Sources

To start using Polar Analytics, you’ll need to connect the data sources you want to analyze. This setup usually takes under 5 minutes.

Before You Begin

  • Account Permissions: You must be an Admin in your Polar workspace and have admin access on the platform you’re connecting (e.g., Facebook, Shopify, Google Ads).

  • No Setup Required in Advance: There are no pre-configuration steps needed outside of having the appropriate access.

Steps to Connect

  1. Navigate to the Connectors Tab in your Polar dashboard.

  2. Search for the connector you wish to add.

  3. Follow the prompts to authenticate and authorize access to your data.

  4. Repeat for all tools you use—Shopify, GA4, Klaviyo, Recharge, and more.

Once connected, Polar begins importing historical data immediately. This typically completes within 24 hours, after which your dashboards will populate with insights.

💡 Don’t see your platform? You can use our Google Sheets connector to import offline marketing spend, influencer costs, or any other custom data.

Managing and Configuring Your Connectors

Once your connectors are added, you can configure them to match your account setup and attribution models. Here's what you can manage:

General Options

  • Add multiple accounts (e.g., if you have more than one Shopify store)

  • Select attribution windows (click-through, view-through, swipe, etc.)

  • Disable or delete connectors depending on your needs

Platform-Specific Settings

Here are recommendations for a few commonly used platforms:

Shopify

  • You can add multiple stores by selecting Add Shopify Account.

Google Analytics (GA4)

  • Add multiple properties, but only one can be active at a time.

Google Ads

  • Choose your click-through conversion window.

  • Add multiple ad accounts.

Facebook Ads

  • Configure:

    • Click and view attribution windows

    • Action report time (choose between impression time and conversion time)

Pinterest

  • Configure:

    • Click, view, and engagement attribution windows

    • Conversion report time

Snapchat

  • Configure:

    • Swipe and view attribution windows

TikTok Ads

  • Default attribution settings apply.

  • Note: TikTok only began exposing conversion value via API as of Jan 31, 2023. Until Polar adds this, conversion value will show as 0.

Amazon Ads

  • Configure region and attribution window based on your Amazon settings.

Criteo

  • Match currency and report timezone with your Criteo account.

Troubleshooting and Advanced Actions

Can’t Add or Reconnect a Connector?

If the “Connect” button is greyed out or showing an error, you likely don’t have the correct user role. Only Admins in Polar can add or manage connectors.

  • Check your role under My Team in Account Settings.

  • Ask an Admin on your team to upgrade your role if needed.

  • Still having trouble? Reach out to us via in-app live chat.

Deleting a Connector

  • Go to the Connectors tab

  • Click the trash icon next to the connector

  • Warning: This action removes all historical data from your dashboards.

Disabling a Connector

  • Toggle the connector status from Connected to Disabled

  • This pauses data syncing but retains historical data in your account
