Data Refresh Timing & Initial Sync in Polar Analytics
Polar Analytics ensures your data stays fresh and accurate but how often your data syncs depends on your plan, data sources, and sync stage (first-time vs. ongoing).
๐ Initial Sync After Connecting Data Sources
When you first connect a data source to Polar:
The initial sync may take up to 24 hours.
Sync time depends on your timezone, planโs refresh frequency, and how much historical data needs to be imported.
Some connectors (like Klaviyo, Facebook, and Amazon) may take longer due to API rate limits.
๐ฌ Youโll receive an email notification once your account is fully synced and ready to use.
๐ Weโre actively working on ways to estimate sync times more precisely in the future.
Data Refresh by Plan Type
Analyze Plan
Data refreshes once daily at 1 AM (your account's time zone).
If a connector is shared across accounts in different time zones, it refreshes hourly instead.
Analyze & Enrich and Analyze, Enrich & Activate Plans
Includes intra-day refresh, syncing as often as hourly, depending on each source's API availability.
Note: Some data sources may occasionally have delays due to API limits or response time.
๐ Shopify Refreshes Every 15 Minutes (New!)
We now refresh Shopify data every 15 minutes for users on our new data pipeline.
We began migrating accounts to this pipeline on May 1st, 2025, and are rolling it out progressively. If you're not seeing 15-minute refreshes yet, don't worry โ your account will be updated soon.
How Time Zones Affect Data
In Polar, data is shown based on each storeโs local time zone, but itโs grouped by the selected date in your dashboard.
For example, if you choose January 15th:
Auckland (UTC+13) data is synced as early as January 14th at 12:00 UTC.
London (UTC) data syncs on January 15th at 01:00 UTC.
New York (UTC-5) data arrives last, on January 15th at 06:00 UTC.
๐ก If you have stores in multiple time zones, the data for a full day will only be complete once all time zones have synced, typically after your latest time zone (e.g., New York) is processed.
๐ Historical Data Access
Polar can load historical data from your sources:
To import full historical data, upgrade to one of our paid plans to get deeper insights into past performance and trends.
If you disable a connector, Polar will still display any previously synced historical data.
๐ Where to Check Your Sync Status
You can always check:
The last sync time
The next scheduled sync
Just go to Connectors > click Configure on any connector (e.g., Shopify or Google Sheets).

๐ Default Time Zones for Specific Connectors
Some connectors use fixed time zones due to how their APIs are configured:
Connector | Time Zone Used |
Google Analytics | Your Polar account time zone |
Google Sheets | UTC |
UTC | |
Recharge | EST |
