Creating Views is a great way to map several data sources together and create custom filters for your dashboards. Once you've created a View, you can apply it on your Key Indicators, Acquisition, Retention, Products, Engagement, or Custom Reports dashboards. Some of our most successful customers use Views to easily filter their dashboards by:

  • Store (if they have multiple Shopify stores)

  • Country or region

  • Product

  • Sales Channel

  • And much more - the options are endless!

How to create a View:

This video details how to set up your first View step-by-step. In this example, we're creating a View that will filter a dashboard by country. Note that this is just an example dashboard, which is why you won't see data pull through to the widgets.

Step 1: Select the "+" symbol next to Views.

You can create a view on the top bar of your Key Indicators, Acquisition, or Custom Reports tabs.

Step 2: Select "Create a view item".

You can think of the view item as the specific criteria that you'd like to filter for (in this example, we would create a view item for each country).

Step 3: Add your data source(s) for that view item.

Adding in data source(s) will enable your View to pull in the necessary data to your dashboard. You can add as many data sources as you'd like to your view items.

Important Notes:

  • Make sure you've selected the correct account using the checkboxes if you have multiple accounts for each source.

  • If you'd like to see data for all sources, you'll need to ensure to add each of them within each view item. For example, if you only add Shopify as a data source, once the View is selected, all the metrics from other data sources will be at 0.

Step 4: Repeat Steps 2 & 3 for any additional view items you need.

Step 5: Add filters to your view item.

If you select in the rules "is" or "is not", you will get a drop-down list with all the possible options for that source and that filter. You can also add multiple values in the same set of rules with "is in list" or "is not in list".'

Step 6: Apply the View by selecting it within your dashboard.

You can currently apply Views that you've created on the Key Indicators, Acquisition, Retention, Products, and Custom Reports tabs in Polar.

How to delete a View:

You can easily delete a view by selecting "edit" from the View dropdown and deleting the View item.
