Power Spelling allows you to schedule the dates students have access to any assignment. Schedule games and tests so students only see the assignment on the dates you select.
Assigning Scheduled Games
Click on the desired word list category from the left menu.
Click on the Assign Game Button (or click on the underlined title of the word list to preview the word list and sentences or definitions. The assign game button is available on the previewed list).
Check the box for the game or games you would like to schedule.
Click the Scheduled status option and enter the dates you would like students to have access to the assignment. Students will only see the assignment during these dates.
Schedule a Test
Click on the desired word list category from the left menu.
Click on the Assign Test Button (or click on the underlined title of the word list to preview the word list and sentences or definitions. The assign test button is available on the previewed list).
Select the type of test you would like to assign (Automated or Teacher Led).
Click the Scheduled status option and enter the dates you would like students to have access to the test. Students will only see the assignment during these dates.
Changing an Assignment Status to Scheduled
Click on My Assignments from the left menu.
Click on the underlined title of the Assignment.
Click on the Scheduled option.
Once you have selected the Scheduled option and entered a beginning and ending date, you will see the scheduled status on the Assignment card.
💡Tips:
Schedule a game for each day of the week and then schedule a spelling test for Friday.
Remind students to practice their words in the Free Play area after they finish their daily assignment.
You can change the status of an Assignment at any time.
Active – The students currently have access to an assignment. They will see the Assignment and can begin working on it at any time. Think of marking the assignment Active as turning the assignment ON.
Inactive – The Assignment has been created, but the students currently do not have access to this Assignment. Think of marking the assignment Inactive as turning the assignment OFF.
Scheduled – Students will only have access to the Assignment for the dates that have been selected.
