1.1 - Map you value chain
Before you enrich prduct.com with supplier data, you need to have an overview. We recommend that you map at least your direct suppliers in Tier 1. The platform also allows you to map subcontractors to the extent you want (or are required to).
1.2 - Create suppliers
When creating suppliers you have two options:
Create them directly in the system one supplier at the time.
Upload multiple suppliers into the system via Excel/CSV file.
You have the option to created them for internal use or invite them onto the platform upon creation. We recommend creating them for internal use and at a later point (step 1.4) invite them onto the platform.
1.3 - Create a Policy / Code of Conduct
Time to create a Policy / Code of Conduct. You can create them directly in the system or upload them via a PDF file.
Need advice on your Code of Conduct?
We have collected some general considerations when creating your Policy.
Our OECD policy (which is standard in the platform) is quite comprehensive if you don’t already have policies.
We also do have partners who can advise on policy development.
1.4 - Invite your suppliers onto the platform to sign the policies
Now it’s time to invite your suppliers so they can sign the Code of
Conduct, etc.
Tips for a successful supplier onboarding:
Send an introduction with a link to this welcome guide. It’s important to explain why and how this will strengthen your collaboration.
Invite them only when there is something specific for them to do, such as signing the Code of Conduct.
Try to identify and invite the right person at the supplier (there may be several), depending on the task or information to be shared.
Regularly check the supplier overview in the system and follow up with those who haven’t yet created an account.
