Setting up a branded sending domain in PredictaMail helps improve deliverability, boost your brand credibility, and comply with evolving email authentication requirements from inbox providers like Gmail and Yahoo.

This guide walks you through what a sending domain is, why it matters, and how to set one up in PredictaMail.

What Is a Sending Domain?

A sending domain is a custom domain (typically a subdomain of your website) that your emails are sent from—like send.yourbrand.com. While your customers won’t see this in their inbox, it helps email servers verify that messages are truly from your brand.

Setting up a branded sending domain:

  • Improves email deliverability

  • Strengthens sender reputation

  • Helps meet authentication standards like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC

How to Add a Branded Sending Domain in PredictaMail

Step 1: Go to Domain Settings

  1. In your PredictaMail dashboard, go to the sidebar and click Settings

  2. Select Email > Domains

  3. Click Add Domain

Step 2: Enter Your Domain Details

You’ll be asked to provide two types of domain information:

Root Domain

This is the main domain you own (e.g., yourbrand.com) that you purchased through a domain registrar.

Sending Domain (Subdomain)

This is the subdomain you'll use for sending emails (e.g., send.yourbrand.com).

Choose a subdomain that isn’t already used elsewhere—“send” or “mail” are common choices.

You'll also see a preview of how this subdomain will be used for sending. While it’s hidden from your subscribers, inbox providers will see it during email authentication checks.

Step 3: Update DNS Records with Your DNS Provider

Once your domain is added, PredictaMail will generate a set of DNS records that must be added to your domain’s DNS settings.

Here’s how:

  1. Log into your DNS provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Google Domains, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.)

  2. Select your domain

  3. Access your DNS settings or zone file editor

  4. Add the DNS records provided by PredictaMail exactly as shown

⚠️ Not all DNS providers allow direct editing of all records. If you’re unsure, contact your provider’s support or consult your IT team.

Step 4: Verify Your DNS Records

After updating your DNS settings:

  • Return to PredictaMail and click Verify Records

  • We’ll check that everything is set up properly

  • Most records propagate within minutes, but it may take up to 48 hours for full verification

You can save and come back later if needed.

Why It Matters

Inbox providers like Gmail and Yahoo now require proper authentication—especially for bulk senders. Setting up a branded sending domain helps ensure your emails land in the inbox, not spam.

Starting February 2024, Google requires all bulk senders (sending 5,000+ emails/day) to meet these authentication standards. This includes transactional and marketing emails.

Checklist

  • Add your root domain and branded sending domain in PredictaMail

  • Copy and add the generated DNS records to your DNS provider

  • Verify your domain in PredictaMail

  • Resume sending once verification is complete
