When setting up your branded sending domain in PredictaMail, you’ll need to update your DNS (Domain Name System) records. To do this, you'll work through your DNS provider—the service where your domain’s DNS settings are managed.

This article will help you understand what a DNS provider is, why it matters, and how to find yours.

What Is a DNS Provider?

Your DNS provider is the service that hosts your domain’s DNS records. These records control how internet services—like email—interact with your domain.

When setting up PredictaMail, you’ll be adding specific DNS records (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) to authenticate your branded sending domain. This tells inbox providers that PredictaMail is authorized to send emails on your behalf.

Why You Need It

To complete your domain setup, you’ll need to:

  • Log in to your DNS provider’s dashboard

  • Locate your DNS or “zone file” settings

  • Add the records PredictaMail generates for your domain

Without this step, your domain won’t be authenticated properly, and your emails may fail to reach inboxes or be marked as spam.

Common DNS Providers

When adding a sending domain in PredictaMail, you’ll be asked to select your DNS provider. We currently support the following:

  • GoDaddy

  • Google Domains

  • HostGator

  • Hover

  • Namecheap

  • Squarespace

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Cloudflare

  • Other (if your provider isn’t listed)

📌 Don’t know your DNS provider? You can usually find it where you purchased or registered your domain.

How to Find Your DNS Provider

If you’re unsure who your DNS provider is, try these steps:

  1. Check your domain registrar – often, it’s the same provider you bought your domain from.

  2. Use a DNS lookup tool like who.is to search your domain and view nameservers.

  3. Ask your IT team or hosting provider – especially if you’re using custom infrastructure.

Next Step: Update Your DNS Records

Once you’ve identified your DNS provider:

  • Head to your DNS dashboard

  • Copy the records provided in PredictaMail

  • Paste them into your DNS settings exactly as shown
