In Preo there is an eCredit API that will automatically verify the customer information provided in the requirements screen against the customers information in D&B. In some cases, the D&B information does not 100% accurately meet the customers information. We see this when the customer moves their Headquarters location, changes names, etc.

Below are the steps to submit credit using the customer information instead of the recommendation from D&B.

  1. In the request tab you click "New Request" and then Request credit.

  2. You will then get a screen which will verify the information that was provided in the requirements tab. It's important to review this information for 100% accuracy. The data listed under "Customer" should be the information for the customers Headquarters location. The information under "Bill To Address" should be the information of where the customer wants their invoices sent to. Please note that zip codes should only be 5 digits and that phone numbers should not have any dashes or parenthesis. Once verified click "Continue"

  3. You should then get a pop out of recommended D&B (DUNS) numbers. In the far left of the chart is a confidence code. This is the system trying to show you which DUNS number is the correct one for you to choose. Once you find the right combination with the highest confidence level, click the green "SELECT" button.

If you look at all the duns numbers and none of the legal name/address combinations match your customers name/address then you'll click "Skip & Use Proposal Information."

  4. It's important to leave as much notes as you can for the credit team so they are able to accuratly review the customer. The more information provided the quicker/easier a credit approval can be returned.
