How To: Handling Win Helper Flags During Checklist Completion in PREO

Overview

A change has been implemented in PREO that impacts how checklists are completed at specific milestones. The Win Helper now runs automatically when Business Operations attempts to process or complete the checklist at certain stages.

This ensures proposal issues are identified earlier and resolved before advancing to the next milestone.


What Changed

The following milestones now automatically trigger Win Helper when a checklist is processed or completed:

  • Quote Validation

  • Get Signature

  • Signature Review

When completing the checklist at any of these milestones:

  • If Win Helper flags an item, the checklist cannot be completed

  • The flagged item must be corrected first before moving forward


What This Means for Business Operations

  • Win Helper is now a required validation step, not informational only

  • You cannot process to the next milestone if a Win Helper item is present

  • Win Helper flags indicate something in the proposal requires correction


What To Do When Win Helper Flags an Item

  1. Attempt to complete the checklist

    • If Win Helper appears, review the flagged item(s)

  2. Determine if the issue requires a proposal change

    • Most Win Helper flags indicate missing, incorrect, or inconsistent proposal data

  3. Use the standard Kickback process if sales needs to revise

    • Kick the proposal back to Sales using the existing kickback process

    • Clearly reference the Win Helper flag and what needs to be corrected

  4. Wait for Sales to make the correction

    • Once Sales updates the proposal, re‑attempt checklist completion

  5. Complete the checklist and proceed

    • When Win Helper no longer flags items, you may complete the checklist and move forward to the next milestone


Important Reminders

  • Do not bypass Win Helper — flagged items must be resolved

  • Kickback remains the required method for engaging Sales on corrections

  • Win Helper enforcement applies only when processing or completing the checklist, not while reviewing the milestone


Why This Change Was Made

  • Improves proposal accuracy earlier in the process

  • Reduces downstream rework and delays

  • Ensures required data and validations are complete before advancing milestones

If you are completing a checklist at Quote Validation, Get Signature, or Signature Review and Win Helper flags an issue:

  • The issue must be resolved

  • Sales must be engaged via the kickback process

  • The checklist cannot be completed until the Win Helper item is cleared
