Technically, our apps can only be installed and are guaranteed to work in the published theme - not in unpublished themes or staging sites.

This is because our apps store settings in your theme, and some of those settings are specific to the published theme. Changing them to work with your unpublished theme would break our app on your published theme.

That being said, there is a way for our app to still install on your unpublished theme, granted that your new unpublished theme is not too complex and is almost similar to your old theme.

A brief background: Our app automatically installs all necessary files and scripts on your active theme. With that in mind, we can force our app to install on the unpublished theme.

1. In the Shopify Admin, go to Sales Channel -> Online Store -> Themes.

2. Click the Customize button of the unpublished theme to test.

3. Click the "App Embeds" section.

4. Toggle "Pre-Order Now WOD" to enable.

5. Click the Save button.

NOTE: If your active theme and your unpublished theme are different (for example, not a duplicate), there is a big chance that our app will not fully work even if the script and files are added successfully. This is because your current and unpublished themes might be using different structures and styles to display certain parts of the website.

With this, we need further customization and integration, which would mean that if we do that, it will stop working on your old theme. If this is the case, the only option is to wait until you are ready to switch to a new theme.
