Availability and Rates: How Cloudbeds' Intervals Affect Pricepoint

How Cloudbeds' interval structure affects Pricepoint's pricing updates, why availability stays managed in Cloudbeds, and how optional calendar automation keeps your booking window open 365 days in advance.

Cloudbeds is where your property's availability is managed. Pricepoint works alongside it to optimize your pricing.

What are intervals?

"Intervals" are a Cloudbeds concept, the individual rate and availability entries tied to specific dates and room types in your Cloudbeds calendar. Pricepoint doesn't use intervals itself, but because Cloudbeds structures rates this way, it directly affects how Pricepoint can read and update your pricing.

How does Pricepoint update rates in Cloudbeds?

Pricepoint can only update prices for dates that already have an interval (a rate) set in Cloudbeds.

Important:

If a date has no interval defined, or the interval exists but has no price set (showing as $0), Pricepoint cannot update pricing for that date. This is one of the most common reasons a date shows no rate, or a $0 rate, in Cloudbeds, the interval needs to exist with a price already set before Pricepoint can take over and optimize it.

What should you do if you see this?

  • If a date shows a $0 rate: this means the interval exists but has no price attached. Add a price to that interval in Cloudbeds so Pricepoint can update it going forward.

  • If a date is missing an interval entirely: you'll need to add one in Cloudbeds first. Cloudbeds' own article walks through exactly how to do this: How to Add or Edit Base Rates in the Availability Matrix.

Once the interval and price are in place, Pricepoint will pick up that date on its next update cycle.

Pricepoint pushes updated pricing up to 1 year in advance. A couple of operational rules to keep in mind:

  • Opening new dates: If you open new dates in Cloudbeds with a temporary high rate, Pricepoint will automatically overwrite them with optimized pricing shortly after.

  • Restrictions: Pricepoint doesn't override restrictions you've set in Cloudbeds, any restrictions configured manually will remain unchanged.

What is calendar automation?

To simplify operations, you can enable calendar automation in Pricepoint, which ensures your inventory remains open 365 days in advance and automatically opens new months as they become available. This isn't self-service, it needs to be set up by our Pricepoint team, so reach out to Support to have it enabled for your account.

When enabled, Pricepoint will:

  1. Populate rates: send pricing for newly opened dates.

  2. Automate MinLOS (optional, request required): apply your preferred MinLOS values to new months. This is a separate request from enabling calendar automation itself, so let Support know if you want this included too. Once active, Pricepoint sends a consistent MinLOS per new month, though it can differentiate between weekdays and weekends.

Example: If calendar automation is enabled on March 26, 2026, Pricepoint will populate rates through March 2027. If MinLOS automation has also been requested and enabled by Support, these values apply only to the newly opened period, your existing MinLOS settings for earlier dates stay untouched.

Summary

  • Availability is managed directly in Cloudbeds.

  • Pricepoint only updates dates that already have a rate set in Cloudbeds; rates of $0 are ignored.

  • If you see a $0 rate or a missing interval, add the price or interval in Cloudbeds (step-by-step guide) so Pricepoint can optimize.

  • Restrictions set in Cloudbeds are never overridden by Pricepoint.

  • Calendar automation is a Pricepoint feature, set up by our team on request, that maintains a full 365-day booking window automatically.
