Task Menus in the Mobile App

Differences Between iOS and Android

The ProgressionLIVE mobile application offers nearly identical functionality on both iOS and Android, but the location of the menus differs.

iOS (iPhone)

Menus are accessed through icons located at the bottom of the screen.

Android

Menus are accessed through icons and menus located at the top of the screen.



Main Task Screen

When viewing a task without opening any menu, you can see:

  • The task status

  • The appointment

  • The summary and description

  • The duration

  • The taxes

  • The customer and location

  • The task's completed fields

Note: Only fields containing data are displayed on the screen.



Accessing Task Menus

Task menus are accessible only to:

  • The primary assigned resource

  • Assistants (with limited permissions)

Note: Users with a Timesheet-only license do not have access to the features described in this article.



Attachments

iOS

  • Attachments icon in the bottom-left corner.

Android

  • Attachments icon in the upper-right corner.

Purpose

  • Add photos

  • Add documents

  • Manage all files attached to the task

Note: Both the primary resource and assistants can add and view attachments.



Comments

iOS

  • Comments icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Comments icon in the upper-right corner.

Purpose

  • Add comments to a task

  • View existing comments

  • Review comments left by other users

Tips : Comments can be marked as Priority Comments when created (if configured). These comments are displayed to the user when opening the task.

The user must view the priority comment before accessing the task.



Signatures

iOS

  • Signatures icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Signatures icon in the upper-right corner.

Purpose

  • Add a customer signature

  • Add an employee signature

Note: Signatures can be configured as mandatory within task property settings, requiring users to collect a signature before progressing through certain workflow steps.



Invoice

iOS

  • Shopping Cart icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Shopping Cart icon in the upper-right corner.

Purpose

  • Add items to the invoice

  • Modify existing items

Note: Products are pulled from the account's Product Catalog.



Equipment

iOS

  • Gear icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Equipment menu (gear icon) at the top of the screen.

Purpose

  • Add equipment associated with the task

  • Create new equipment records linked to the task

Tips : When equipment is linked to a task, the task becomes part of the equipment's service history. This allows accurate tracking of all work performed on each piece of equipment.



Task Fields

iOS

  • Paper/Pencil icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Paper/Pencil icon at the bottom of the screen.

Purpose

  • Complete or modify task fields

Examples

  • Customer information

  • Location information

  • Custom fields specific to the task type

Tips : If equipment is associated with the task, it will impact the service history of the selected equipment, providing detailed tracking of work performed.



Timesheet

iOS

  • Clock icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Clock icon in the upper-right corner.

Purpose

  • Add time entries

  • View existing time entries

  • Record time for:

    • The primary assigned resource

    • Other resources assigned to the task

Tips : If you add a time entry for a resource who is not currently assigned to the task, that resource may be automatically added to the task if the corresponding Timesheet configuration option is enabled.



Work Order Preview, Printing, and Delivery

Preview and Print

iOS

  • Printer icon in the bottom menu.

Android

  • Available through the Preview / Print menu.

Purpose

  • Generate the work order

  • Print the document

  • Share it by email or SMS



Changing a Task Status

iOS

  • Share icon in the bottom menu, or directly beside the current status.

Android

  • Circular button displaying the current status and color at the top of the screen.

Purpose

  • Change the task status

  • Trigger automations associated with workflow states

Note: Most automations within Progression are triggered by status changes.



Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can assistants modify a task?

No. Assistants can add time entries and attachments, but they cannot modify task details.


Where do I add photos on the mobile app?

Photos can be added through the Attachments menu.


Can signatures be added at any time?

Yes. Signatures can be collected at any time through the Signatures menu.


Where do I enter time on a task?

Time entries are added through the Timesheet menu (clock icon).


How do I change the status of a task?

Use the status button displayed on the main task screen.
