How to Turn On Utility Switching for a Property
Utility switching is a feature that allows the tenant to compare and switch utility providers for a property, ensuring they are receiving value for money. It also ensures notifications of the change of occupier are sent to relevant providers, such the water supplier and the local council, saving tenants/agent time and hassle.
If you want to enable Utility Switching for one of your rental properties, simply follow these steps.
Step 1: Open the Property
To begin, open the property that you would like to turn on utility switching for. This can be done by navigating to the property in your account or by searching for it using the search bar.
Step 2: Locate the Utilities Section
Once you have opened the property, scroll down to the deal section. Towards the bottom, you will find the utilities section. This is where you can manage the utility providers for the property.
Step 3: Turn On Utility Switching
In the utilities section, you will see a toggle labelled "Utility Switching". This toggle controls whether utility switching is turned on or off for the property.
To turn on utility switching, simply move the toggle to the "on" position. This will enable you to add in meter readings and select the current suppliers for the property.
And that's it! Utility switching is now turned on for the property. The Tenant will be able to take advantage of being able to easily switch providers and save money on their utilities.
If you ever need to turn off utility switching for a property, simply follow these steps and move the toggle to the "off" position.
