How to Add a Tenant to a Deal

Sometimes when you try and add a Tenant to a deal on the Propoly platform, you will be given an error telling you the email address is already in use.

This is because you have tried to create a new record in Propoly, when a record with that email address already exists elsewhere. Propoly will not allow duplicates to be created, so you will be given this error.

However, there is no need to worry! Adding the tenant is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps. Follow the instructions below to add the tenant to your deal.

Step 1: Open the Deal

The first step is to open up the deal that you need to add the tenant onto. This can be done by navigating to the deal in your account or by clicking on the deal link in an email notification.

Step 2: Select "+Add" in the Tenants Section

On the left hand sidebar, you will see the Tenants section. Find and click on the "Add +" button within this section.

This will take you to the "Add a Tenant" screen, where you can start the process of adding a new tenant to the deal.

Step 3: Locate the "Search Tenant" Box

On the "Add a Tenant" screen, you will see a white search bar. This is where you will enter the tenant's information to add them to the deal.

Step 4: Enter the Tenant's Email Address

In the "Tenant Search" box, enter the email address for the tenant you are trying to add.

This will find the record that already exists within the Propoly platform. Find the tenant in the list of results (there should only be one) to populate the "Add a Tenant" screen with their details.

Step 5: Submit the Details

Take a moment to check that the details you have pulled through are correct, and make any necessary updates. Once you have, click on the "Add Tenant" button at the bottom of the page.

This will add the tenant to the deal and they will now be listed in the tenants section.
