What happens if my account fails?

What happens when an account fails. Resets are no longer available as of 2:00 AM EST on August 18, 2026 — a failed account cannot be reset or replaced. Historic reset rules and pricing retained for reference.

⚠️ Transition Notice — effective August 18, 2026

PropShopTrader has entered a strategic partnership with PropAccount. From 2:00 AM EST on August 18, 2026, new account purchases and resets are no longer available on our current infrastructure, and a failed account will not be reset or replaced.

Any sections below describing account purchases, resets, or reset pricing no longer apply. They are retained for reference for accounts purchased before this date.

Existing active accounts continue trading as normal. New evaluation programs will launch on the new infrastructure — a launch date is being finalised.

Overview

An account fails when it breaches a core account rule — most commonly:

  • Dropping below the drawdown threshold

  • Reaching 3 MAE Warnings (Applies to Gladiator Light and Gladiator Stocks)

  • Gladiator Forge — single MAE breach (instant fail): an open trade's unrealized loss or a closed trade's realized loss reaching the account's MAE threshold (50% of max trailing drawdown). On Forge the MAE Cap equals the Daily Loss Limit value.

  • Gladiator Forge — Daily Loss Limit (soft breach): On Gladiator Forge, the Daily Loss Limit is a soft breach: when net daily P&L (realized + unrealized) reaches the Daily Loss Limit, open positions are closed and the account is locked out until the next session (6:00 PM EST). It does not by itself fail the account.

  • Gladiator Sprint — single MAE breach (instant fail): an open trade's unrealized loss or a closed trade's realized loss reaching the account's 50% MAE threshold ($500 on 25K, $1,000 on 50K). This is a single-position, static threshold with no warnings, and it fails the account instantly.

  • Gladiator Sprint — Daily Loss Limit (soft breach): reaching the Daily Loss Limit ($625 on 25K, $1,250 on 50K) is a soft breach — open positions close and the account is locked out until the next session (6:00 PM EST). A soft breach does not by itself fail the account. The account only hard-fails if losses reach the Max EOD Drawdown ($1,000 on 25K, $2,000 on 50K).

  • A confirmed compliance violation

Once the account fails, trading stops on that account.

When is a failed account confirmed?

  • No need to wait until the end of the trading day

  • Our system updates every 30 minutes throughout the day

  • If an account is breached, it may take up to 30 minutes for the failed status to appear in your dashboard

Resets are no longer available. From 2:00 AM EST on August 18, 2026, a failed account cannot be reset or replaced on our current infrastructure.

Account limits

Traders are allowed one registered profile (email). Inside that profile:

Futures accounts — maximum 10 total (Light + Forge + Sprint PTSA combined):

  • Gladiator Light & Forge: Up to 5 Intraday accounts (Intraday Trailing + EOD Trailing combined — day trading); Up to 5 Swing accounts.

  • Gladiator Sprint (payout accounts): Up to 10 — day-trading only (EOD drawdown). Sprint is its own category and is not counted in the Light/Forge 5-Intraday limit.

  • Sprint Evaluation accounts: unlimited, not counted (passed evaluations beyond the cap wait in Reserve).

  • All Light + Forge + Sprint PTSA together cannot exceed 10 Futures.

Stock accounts — maximum 10 total: Up to 5 Intraday accounts (Intraday Trailing + EOD Trailing combined); Up to 5 Swing accounts.

Maximum accounts per trader: 20 total accounts — up to 10 Futures + up to 10 Stock. Sprint Evaluation accounts are unlimited and excluded from the 20.

Reset eligibility rules — no longer available

Resets are no longer offered on our current infrastructure. This applies to all account types and to both paid and complimentary resets. A failed account remains in a failed status and cannot be reset or replaced.

The reset rules and pricing set out below applied prior to 2:00 AM EST on August 18, 2026 and are retained for reference only.

  • Account balance

  • Trading history

  • Qualifying trading days

  • Current Benchmark progress

Benchmark Reset — Gladiator Stocks only (reference only)

A Benchmark Reset issued a new trading account while preserving up to 4 previously earned Benchmarks. The account balance, trading history, and qualifying trading days reset to the normal starting state; only the eligible Benchmarks carried over.

Benchmark Reset Add-On: Preserve Drawdown Balance — Gladiator Stocks only (reference only)

This add-on was available only with a Benchmark Reset on a Stocks account. The new account started with a higher initial balance so the trailing drawdown was already covered.

Important note on failed accounts

  • A failed account cannot continue trading.

  • A failed account is final. It cannot be reset or replaced on our current infrastructure.

  • Failure is applied by the system against the program rules the account was purchased under — most commonly a drawdown breach, an MAE breach, or a confirmed compliance violation.

  • Repeated MAE-based failures are not appealable.

  • Gladiator Forge and Sprint MAE instant-fail events are not appealable.

  • To continue trading, a new account may be purchased on the new infrastructure once the new evaluation programs launch.
