What happens if my account fails and what reset options are available?

The reset options available for every account type. Gladiator Stocks can use Standard Reset, Benchmark Reset, or the Preserve Drawdown add-on. Gladiator Futures (Payout Account) is Standard Reset only.

Updated this week

Overview

An account fails when it breaches a core account rule — most commonly:

  • Dropping below the drawdown threshold

  • Reaching 3 MAE Warnings

  • A confirmed compliance violation

Once the account fails, trading stops on that account.

When does a failed account become reset-eligible?

  • If the account fails during the trading day, it cannot be reset immediately.

  • The failure email is sent after the End-of-Day report runs around 6–7 pm EST.

  • The reset option becomes available only after that process is completed — in practice, typically the next day.

Reset eligibility rules

A reset is available only if:

  • The trader holds fewer than 10 active accounts per asset class (maximum 5 Intraday and 5 Swing per asset class).

  • The reset is requested within 48 hours of the End-of-Day report confirming failure.

Each Gladiator account may be reset a maximum of 10 times over its lifetime. After that, a new account purchase is required.

On a Gladiator Futures (Payout Account), Standard Reset is the only reset option. Benchmark Reset and Preserve Drawdown are not offered on Gladiator Futures (Payout Account) accounts.

Standard Reset (all accounts)

A Standard Reset issues a brand-new trading account with no preserved Benchmarks. Everything resets to the normal starting state, including:

  • Account balance

  • Trading history

  • Qualifying trading days

  • Current Benchmark progress

For a Gladiator Futures (Payout Account) 25K-class failure, the Standard Reset produces a new Gladiator Futures (Payout Account) at the same 25K class. For a 50K-class failure, it produces a new Gladiator Futures (Payout Account) at the 50K class.

Benchmark Reset — Gladiator Stocks only

A Benchmark Reset issues a new trading account while preserving up to 4 previously earned Benchmarks. The account balance, trading history, and qualifying trading days reset to the normal starting state; only the eligible Benchmarks carry over.

Benchmark Reset Add-On: Preserve Drawdown Balance — Gladiator Stocks only

This add-on is available only with a Benchmark Reset on a Stocks account. The new account starts with a higher initial balance so the trailing drawdown is already covered, allowing the trader to focus directly on:

  • Daily profit targets

  • Remaining Benchmarks

without rebuilding the drawdown buffer first.

Important note on failed accounts

  • A failed account cannot continue trading.

  • Reset timing depends on End-of-Day confirmation.

  • Benchmark recovery depends on the reset option selected (Stocks only).

  • Repeated MAE-based failures are not appealable.

  • Existing (pre-launch) Futures accounts follow the grandfathering rules described in the PropShopTrader Policy Update – Effective April 23, 2026, including specific handling for 25K / 50K Futures accounts and for discontinued 100K / 250K / 500K accounts.
