When the user creates pickings from sales orders, an error for insufficient stock availability can be returned

To yet continue processing those orders, the user has to enable the setting Eliminate missing products from sales orders in Administration > Settings > Outgoing orders.

This function gives the following options to handle errors in the CREATE PICKINGS dialog:

PAUSE ORDERS WITH ERRORS > The status of orders with errors will be set to paused and the dialog close
ELIMINATE MISSING PRODUCTS >
1. The quantity will be reduced to the available amount, pickings will be created
2. The product will be deleted from the sales order, if the available quantity is 0, pickings will be created
3. If the product is the only/last item in a sales order, it can not be deleted and show the following error
❗️ NOTE: The manipulated sales orders will be marked in the order details

Example

We have a sales order to create a single picking from, with three products:

1 product with sufficient stock

1 product with insufficient stock

1 product out of stock

We decide to eliminate the missing products from the sales order. The insufficient position was reduced to the available amount, and the out-of-stock product was deleted.
