Inbound loading units movements
After the reception of the loading units, you have to move the loading units to the warehouse locations for your products to become available for picking. PULPO WMS automatically create a movement task for each incoming goods sequence.
Movement tasks can be accepted as is, or split in the web app.
Handling movement tasks in the web app
The new tab "Packing information" in the movement tasks details provides information about the loading units included in the movement task and their contents.
Like in regular movement tasks, you can assign a picker, split a task, merge several of them, or cancel selected tasks.
Splitting movement tasks
If you decide to split a loading unit movement task, PULPO offers you several options for splitting:
Splitting by loading unit
Splitting by tag
Splitting by destination
Splitting the tasks by loading unit creates a set of movement tasks, each containing one loading unit only.
Splitting by tag allows you to select all loading units with a certain tag and assign them to a movement task.
Splitting by destination groups the loading units by the destination location and assigns them to a single movement task pointing to the same location. The quantity of the tasks will be equal to the quantity of the destination locations.
A callout with a number on top shows the number of unassigned loading units. You can finish splitting once all the items are assigned to the replenishments.
Clicking the ">>" symbol allows to you immediately assign the loading unit to the selected replenishment.
Once you split, the movement tasks will appear in the system and the mobile app.
Batching movement tasks
After selecting 2 or more movement tasks, you can batch them into a single movement task. A new task will be created, and the previous tasks will be removed.
A newly created task will get the type "Lot" and can be split as explained above.
Movement tasks in the mobile app
After opening a list of the movement tasks in the mobile app, you can swipe any of them to the right to see the contents of the task.
Before accepting a task, you can remove loading units of the task by swiping them to the left. A new movement task will be created for the removed loading units.
An important change compared to the regular movements is that the user is not moving the products one by one but the loading unit with all their contents at once.
In the collection screen, you see the list of the loading units to be collected. After scanning the location, you start scanning the loading units.
Once all the items are scanned, the app shows the destination location under each loading unit. Like in regular movements, you can click 3 dots and change the destination location for a loading unit.
Once done, the app will build an optimal route to store all the items and guide you around the warehouse to store the loading units.
Depending on the setting, the loading units can be itemised automatically after the storage or stored as full loading units.
Regular loading units movement tasks
If the loading units are not itemized after storage, you can move one or more complete loading units (e.g., pallets, bins) from one location to another by creating an "on-the-fly" movement task directly from the Android app.
It serves as an alternative to the standard manual movement, which is designed for moving single, loose items.
When This Option Appears
This functionality is an addition to the existing manual movement flow. The option to move whole loading units will only appear if at least one of the loading units' options (inbound or outbound) is enabled in your account.
If neither of these settings is active, tapping "New Movement" will launch the standard "Move single units" flow as usual.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Initiating the Movement
In the Android app, tap the "New Movement" button.
If your settings allow it, you will see a new selection screen. Choose between:
2. Step 1: Collect Loading Units ("Collect")
Upon selecting "Move whole loading units," you will enter the "Collect" screen.
The screen will be ready to scan. Scan the barcode of the first loading unit (LU) you wish to move.
The Loading Unit will be added to a list on your screen.
Continue scanning all the LUs you need to move. Each one will be added to the list.
Collect Screen Features:
LU List: Displays all LUs you have scanned to move.
LU Info: Each item in the list displays:
Loading unit code
Loading unit type
Loading unit template name
Source position
View Contents: Tap the info icon (i) next to any LU to see a list of the products stored on it (SKU, name, article number, and quantity).
Remove an LU: Swipe an LU to the left in the list to remove it from your pick.
Reserved LU: The system will check if the LU is reserved (e.g., for a sales order). If it is, you will be prevented from moving it.
Once you have collected all your LUs, tap the button at the bottom:
3. Step 2: Store Loading Units ("Store")
You are now on the "Store" screen, which displays the list of LUs you just collected.
To store a loading unit individually, tap on it in the list.
The app will prompt you to scan a destination location.
Scan the destination location. The LU will be stored in that location.
Back in the list, the LU will now display a green text label indicating where it was stored: "Stored on: Position Code".
Repeat this process for all LUs in your list.
In the screen above, one of the loading units has been stored, and the other one is still to be stored.
Accelerated Storing (Store All):
If the Accelerate Movements setting is enabled in your account, you will see a "Store all" button at the bottom.
Tapping this allows you to scan a single destination location, and all LUs from your list will be moved to that one location.
