Loading unit concept

A Loading Unit is the combination of several items into a single unit. With the single unit, shipments are easily transported, operated, or just moved.
The idea behind the Loading Units is the flexibility it brings when moving multiple items at a time, instead of moving separately.

An example of the loading unit is a pallet loaded with boxes containing multiple items.
PULPO's loading unit approach is multi-level, meaning that each of the boxes located on the pallet is a loading unit as well. This means each loading unit can contain end products, other loading units, or their combinations.

In the drawing, the Loading unit LU200023 of type "Pallet" contains another loading unit LU200024 of type "Box" containing several Lot-type items. The pallet also stores some non-type and serial-type products.
PULPO WMS allows any of the loading unit's parts to be operated separately or in any desired combination.

Setting activation

To activate the Setting, please address your PULPO WMS assistant directly or write to our support chat.
After the activation, the section Boxes will change its name to Boxes & Loading Units.
A new tab Loading Units allowing manage loading units will appear there.
