Video Transcription Improvements on TRAC

Social Video Transcript Updates

Updated over a week ago

It’s been five months since we launched our Video Transcription AI model on TRAC, and in that time, we’ve seen fantastic adoption from clients who are using it in all sorts of creative ways to uncover additional insights from their video content, insights that were previously inaccessible to them.

Today, we’re excited to share some significant improvements, designed to make transcribing videos even better and more intuitive. These updates will also lay the groundwork for introducing automatic video transcriptions later this year, so watch this space. In our latest VTT release, we’ve enhanced the user workflow, boosted transcription speed and accuracy, and added a new section, where users can now monitor the progress of their bulk transcripts in real time.

But before we delve into the latest improvements, let’s quickly recap the benefits of using our Video Transcription service on TRAC.

Video transcription offers several benefits, including the following:

  • Ensures relevant conversations and mentions are not missed, especially in content-heavy platforms where video is dominant.

  • Provides a nuanced view of conversations, revealing different perspectives between individuals sharing the video, and individuals in the video.

  • Makes video content searchable and analyzable, leading to more comprehensive insights into sentiment, emotion, topics, and entities.

  • Identifies key influencers through their verbal mentioning of your brand or product in their videos, allowing you as a brand to quickly discover potential creators to collaborate with.

  • Offers multi-language support (up to 16 languages), enabling the monitoring of video content across different languages and regions for expanded social listening and audience intelligence.

  • Increases accessibility by making insights more accessible to all users of TRAC, ensuring no important information is missed.

Now, let’s move onto the new improvements.

Increased Upper Limit

We’ve significantly increased the upper transcription limit when bulk analysing your videos, from 35 videos to 120! This means users can now process and analyze more video content in a single transaction thus saving time, accelerating workflows, and enabling faster access to your video insights.

And there’s more coming: later this year, we’ll introduce Automatic Transcription, a powerful new functionality that will automatically transcribe all videos collected into a search, thus eliminating the need for manual submissions and making your analysis even more seamless.

Improved User Workflow

We’ve streamlined the transcription workflow to make your experience faster and more intuitive. Our enhanced notification system keeps you better informed when background analysis is underway, and we’ve significantly improved the speed of video validation and transcription as well, helping you get results quicker and with less effort.

Video Transcription Analysis

We’ve added a new section to the Analysis page called Video Transcription Analysis. From this view, you can now easily monitor the status of all your transcription jobs; from pending to completed, all in one place. Plus, you can instantly access and review videos as soon as they’ve been transcribed, making it faster and easier than ever to work with your content.

There are 3 ways to access the Video Transcription Analysis page:

  1. Go to the Analysis Page: Search → Search Management → Analysis → Video Transcription Analysis

  2. When bulk transcribing videos - Select a compatible post → click on the transcribe button → click on “View Transcription Status”

  3. From the pop up confirmation - Once one or more videos have been validated and the transcribing begins, there’s also now a new button within the confirmation that’ll take you straight to the Transcription Analysis page where you can view the status of your transcription request.

Analysis Page Explained

In this new Page, you will get the following information:

  1. Created By: Name of the user who initiated the transcription.

  2. No. of Videos: Total videos being transcribed (up to 120 per request).

  3. Created at: Date and time the transcription was requested.

  4. Progress: Live updates on the status of each transcription job.

  5. Notes: Any issues encountered during bulk transcriptions will appear in the Notes column.

  6. Actions: A link to view the transcribed content in Results, or an option to retry any failed transcriptions.
