Today we are excited to introduce our advanced Custom Dashboards and Reports Scheduling on TRAC. Say goodbye to those tedious clicks and endless chart downloads of yesteryear, and say hello to custom dashboards, custom charts, automated reports and so much more!

Our Custom Dashboards and Reports comes packed with some powerful and super flexible features, and will quickly become the companion to your team’s productivity and regular reporting. It's hassle free, intuitive and easy to use. You don't need a long manual to get started, in fact, all you need to see is our handy explainer video here.

So what's on offer?

Below are 10 highlights, summarizing what you can expect from our Custom Dashboards and Reporting capabilities. If you want to learn more, you can dive deeper into our help guides linked in the sections.

1. Dashboard And Report Templates

Choose any one of our predefined templates to create your Dashboard. We currently offer the following, with many more to come:

  • Overview Template

  • Audience Template

  • Content Template

You can learn about these templates here:

Once you've chosen a template as the baseline for creating your Custom Dashboard, the power is in your hands: you have the option to take out some of the charts in that template and replace them with something else, and you can reorder the charts to suit your needs.

2. Create Dashboard From Scratch

If our templates don't float your boat and you need something even more customized, then you have the option to Create your dashboard from scratch.

This option allows you to add up to 15 charts from the various sections on TRAC, known as Standard Charts, or to populate your Dashboard using Custom Charts, (formerly known as Clusters) – please note the name change!

3.  Populate Dashboard Using Standard Charts

Never has creating a Dashboard been so simple and straightforward.

When you create a Dashboard using Standard Charts, you have 8 sections to choose from, as shown below. And if you're familiar with Pulsar TRAC, you will notice how the 8 sections mirror your normal Pulsar Dashboard navigation menu.

And in each section, you can choose the charts you want to add from that section as shown below. And that's pretty much it!

4. Populate Dashboard Using Custom Charts

Fear not, we haven't gotten rid of our much loved Clusters functionality. It is now called Custom Charts, and you can create a Dashboard and populate it with Custom Charts, which can be in the form of a Pie Chart, Line Chart, Word Cloud or Bar Chart

There are the 4 options available to help you create a Custom Chart:

  • You can use our available Custom Chart Templates: Sentiment Split, Media Type Split, Gender Split, Male Sentiment, Female Sentiment, Keywords and Hashtags by Gender.

  • You can clone and import Custom Charts from other Dashboards in the same search.

  • You can clone and import Custom Charts from other Dashboards in other searches.

  • And you can create your Custom Charts from scratch.

5. Customize Chart Titles and Descriptions

Is it a Treemap chart or a Tile chart?

Whatever you feel is the best title and description for your chart is all up to you! So if you're creating a dashboard and a report for a specific audience, how you choose to name your reports and convey what the data represents is entirely up to you. For now however, you can only add text descriptions to your charts, in the next iteration, we will also allow you to add annotations.

More about charts and what you can do with them can be found here:

6. Customize Dashboard Look and Feel

It's not a Custom Dashboard if you can't add some sort of branding to it, right? Well the good news is that not only can you customize the content of your dashboard and report, but also its look and feel.

You can upload a logo, which we will incorporate into all your PDF pages, plus you can also add a header image, which we will use should you choose to export to PDF or schedule a recurring report to be emailed out to other people.

7. Flexible Dashboard Permissions

We understand that different teams will have different users accessing the same searches. So we've made it possible to create Private Dashboards, which only you the creator, can access and edit, or Public Dashboards, which anyone in your team can access or which specific people in your team can access.

When you assign a dashboard to specific people in your team you can further assign roles and permissions to each person, allowing you to retain control on who can view and manage that dashboard. This also makes collaborating & sharing with other members of your team flexible.

8. Filter Dashboard

At Pulsar we're proud of our filtering capabilities, and now (with a brand new look) you can apply and lock filters to a Custom Dashboard or any Report based off that Dashboard.

If you're unfamiliar with Pulsar Filters, these are a great way to slice and dice your data and extract some key insights and learnings from thousands, sometimes millions of posts in a search. Read more on Pulsar Filters here.

9. Flexible Reports Scheduling: Email Now or Email Later

Now that you've got your Dashboard all set up, what next? You have 2 options:

  • You can choose to email the report immediately to a list of recipients.

  • Or you can choose to schedule a recurring email to send that reporting daily, weekly, monthly, or every quarter.

  • If you want something more advanced, such as being able to email the report at a specific date and time of day, then use the Advanced scheduling settings.

More about Reporting can be found here:

10. Share & Export Options

  • Last but not least, you can Preview your Dashboard in any web browser and share that preview link with anyone in your team who has access to that dashboard on Pulsar.

  • You can also download a PDF file of the entire Dashboard which you can choose to share with anyone.
