TRAC: Broadcast Data

A breakdown of TV, Radio, and Podcast data available on TRAC

Updated over a month ago

Learning Objectives

  • You will learn about the Broadcast data sources available on Pulsar

  • You will understand the type of data that can be collected from Broadcast sources

What is Broadcast data?

Broadcast data on Pulsar is collected from TV, Radio, and Podcasts. Adding these sources to a search allows you to look at the broadcasted episode itself!

When content from these sources is collected into a search, TRAC splits the data into segments and returns only segments that match your query. This allows you to look at the bigger picture while still giving you the option to view more precise points in the conversation. In fact, Broadcast content even comes with a convenient transcription of all audio so you don't always have to listen in to find where the important bits are!

What kind of data can I get from Broadcast sources?

As with our other sources, metrics vary, so here's a little breakdown of what's available for each source

Podcast

Radio

TV

ANZ/SEA Broadcast

Impressions

AVE

Location

Language

Duration

Actual Media Reach

Alexa Rank

Historical data is available for ANZ/SEA Broadcast sources for the last 12 months. Other broadcast sources offer data from the previous 2 years as transcripts, however the full clip and web player are only available for 60 days after the air date.

Realtime data becomes available 30 minutes after the episode has aired. This is done to prevent airing the episode elsewhere while it's still live.

How can I add Broadcast data to my search?

Broadcast sources can be enabled along with other sources during Search Setup

If you have an existing search and would like to add Broadcast sources, you can do so by editing the search from the Search Management > Summary page

📝 Note: TV and Radio can be enabled on Topic searches and Panel searches (by channel), but Podcasts are exclusive to Topic searches

Where can I find Broadcast data on TRAC?

You'll find your broadcast data along with content from other data sources in the Feed > Results section.

If you'd like to isolate broadcast data, you can do so using filters!
