Last year, we introduced the 4 revolutions that underpin Pulsar 3.0, one of which was Immersive Awareness - the notion that Pulsar supports you even when you're not staring at a dashboard – from Coverage Reports, to our Instant Alerts and the recently launched Mobile App. Today, we are excited to announce that we’ve made some significant steps in our quest to help you stay fully immersed in Pulsar and ensure that you never miss a beat. We’ve upgraded our much loved KPI Alerts and Email Digests, taking them to another level, with the introduction of Grouping, Advanced Scheduling and Email Customisation.
Content Grouping Explained?
The content in Email Digests can be quite overwhelming to read making it difficult for users to quickly extract important information. With the introduction of grouping, we are introducing an additional layer of curation to the way the content in the Email Digests is displayed. Users can now receive their emails with the content automatically ordered into relevant and meaningful categories, making it easier to digest. This is particularly useful if for example, you’re tracking multiple data sources or a topic that’s being covered by multiple outlets.
With content grouping, you can select up to three sub-groups in which the email content will be organised (you can also skip this option entirely!). Allowing multiple levels of grouping allows you to organise the information that matters to you in a concise and easy to digest way. And what’s more, you can easily reorder the groups by using the “drag & drop” feature that’s available in the alert or digest form, adjusting the format of your Email Digest as you go.
What is included in the Advanced Scheduling options?
Anyone setting up a new Email Digest can now use the advanced settings options available, which give users more flexibility in setting their email schedule as well as decide the cadence of delivery. Below is a detailed breakdown of what’s now available when scheduling an email digest.
Repetition frequency:
Send Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly
Send Every n day(s) Every n week(s), Every n month(s)
Specific days/time of the week:
Send Monday-Friday; exclude Saturday & Sunday
Send only Mondays & Wednesday
Specify Time of the day
Specify Timezone
End Date
Never stop sending
Stop sending on a specific date in the future
Stop sending after a fixed number of emails have been sent
It’s now easier to upload a long list of Recipients!
We understand that Email Digest and KPI alerts are typically going to a large number of people within your organisation, and therefore acknowledge that adding them one by one can be a tedious task. Therefore, as part of the latest Email Digest and KPI Alerts enhancements, you can now copy and paste a long list of comma separated email addresses into the “Email to” field. While we don’t allow users to save the list on the platform yet, there are plans to introduce the function in the near future.
Email Customisation is now available for KPI Alerts & Digests!
In the spirit of allowing more flexibility and giving users options to customise their alerts and digests, we would be remiss to not extend these capabilities to support customisation of the actual email look and feel. This means that users can now design their emails to best suit their client’s needs by choosing the branding, logo and colours of their Email Digests or KPI Alerts.
And that's it for this release! We are looking forward to seeing how you use the new grouping and customisation features in Email Digests and Alerts. If you’d like to read more about how to set up Email Digests or KPI Alerts, below are a few links to relevant articles to help you get started!
