Steps to Manually Clear the Cache

1. Close NinjaTrader 8

  • Ensure that NinjaTrader 8 is completely closed before starting this process.


2. Locate the Cache Folder

  • Open File Explorer.

  • Navigate to the following directory (replace YourUsername with your actual Windows username):

C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db

3. Delete Cache Files

  • Inside the db folder, locate and delete the following folders:

    • cache

    • tick

    • minute

    • day

These folders contain cached and historical data that NinjaTrader 8 will automatically regenerate upon restart.


4. Restart NinjaTrader 8

  • Relaunch NinjaTrader 8.

  • The platform will rebuild the necessary cache files as it runs.


Important Considerations

Performance Impact

  • After clearing the cache, initial load times may be longer as NinjaTrader rebuilds its data.

Backup Your Data

  • Back up any important settings, templates, or custom instruments.

  • Use NinjaTrader’s built-in backup feature for safe and easy backups.
